Unless otherwise noted, our used inventory is sold with a full ninety-day warranty.
All used equipment is fully checked and/or serviced before being offered for sale. All major camera functions are verified by machine for accuracy and consistency. Unless otherwise specified in the full equipment description, light meters and shutter speeds are guaranteed accurate to original manufacturers specifications. Similarly, unless specified otherwise, lenses are clean and clear, apertures operate smoothly, and focus is accurate. Please be sure to read our full descriptions and ask any condition questions you might have before purchase: we can not accept a product for warranty service based upon a pre-disclosed operating condition.
New items carry their manufacturer's warranties, which vary from product to product. Please ask us for details.
Our Return Policy
We believe that Camera Traders is one of the best places around to buy used camera equipment. We try to buy the most interesting equipment available, test it thoroughly, and sell it with professional care and advice.
We stand behind the items we sell with a 90 day warranty (30 days on consigned items), and we have for years offered a 7-day return period on all warrantied items. Choosing the right camera equipment can be complicated, and we will do all we can to ensure that your choice works for you.
Our 7-day return policy is intended to account for the occasional situation when the equipment you buy doesn't suit your needs, and we feel that it's important to have a policy in place to ensure that you're not stuck with equipment that you can't use.
Items returned within 2 business days will be accepted for a full refund. Items returned within 3-7 business days will be assessed a 10% restocking fee. Items must be returned in the same condition as purchased. Duties and shipping fees, if any, are non-refundable.
New items will not be accepted for return, refund or credit unless they are in their original, unopened packaging.
Special order items must be pre-paid and can not be returned for refund, exchange, or credit.
We encourage you to try out items in-store and ask as many questions as you'd like to ensure that the equipment you buy is right for you. We have experience with a wide variety of gear, and we won't push merchandise that we feel is inappropriate for your uses. We can also hold an item in-store until the end of the next business day, free of charge, if you need some time to consider your options.
How To Order
If you are in Victoria or are planning a visit, just stop by our shop during our business hours. If you'd like to order online, contact us by telephone or e-mail and we'll arrange to ship the item to you. Please note that due to the unique nature of our second-hand inventory, we can't guarantee that an item you see on our inventory list will still be available for purchase when you contact us to place your order. We can only ask for your understanding in this case.
Shipping policies and procedures
We ship to customers worldwide. Most items are shipped by Canada Post International Air Mail. We find this is the most cost-effective, safe, secure option for our customers. If you prefer that we use a different shipping method, please let us know and we will be happy to accommodate you. All items are VERY carefully packaged before shipment to ensure safe arrival. Most items shipped within North America average about $12-$20.
All shipments within Canada are sent via Canada Post Expedited service unless requested otherwise. Average shipping time is approximately 2 to 5 days within Canada depending on the destination. Shipping costs vary depending on the size and weight of the product. Please note that we only charge actual shipping fees: there are no handling or packaging fees added to the cost. For this reason, we can only provide a final price quote on shipping once your item has been packaged for shipping.
Orders delivered within British Columbia will be charged GST and PST (total 12%)
Orders shipped within Canada but outside of British Columbia are subject to your province's HST or GST rate
International Orders are not subject to sales tax, but may be subject to import fees or duties which are beyond our control. Check with your country's import authority if you are not sure what to expect.
All amounts are shown in Canadian dollars. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. We also accept debit and cash in-store only. Trades are also always considered!
