Chinon Handyzoom 5001
I have no idea what Chinon was thinking when they designed the Handyzoom 5001, except maybe "people seem to like that new Handycam thing." This is an unusual, bulky point-and shoot with a camcorder-style sideways grip, 35-70mm zoom lens (with buttons on the base?) and an "Auto Programmed Zoom" function that operates the zoom function automatically based on some unknown criteria (I can't imagine that late-80s AI was doing much in the way of sophisticated image recognition). But hey, if you're going to carry around a point-and-shoot, it may as well be a weird one. Battery included.
